2014 Silver 1 oz Canada Birds of Prey Falcon (5 Coins)

This inaugural release in the Birds of Prey 4-coin series features an amazing action design of a peregrine falcon. Created by Emily Damstra, a highly acclaimed illustrator. And this 2014 Silver 1 oz Canada Falcon (Birds of Prey) design is certainly an exquisite example!

The Peregrine Falcon

The obverse of the coin features the right-facing portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Susanna Blunt. The reverse captures a view of a peregrine falcon swiftly descending upon its prey. Its beautiful wings are fully spread, as are its tail feathers. The bird’s eyes are fixed upon a single focal-point as it closes the distance to its next meal. The falcon’s talons are both open and ready to snatch its prize with a quick death-grip. The detail displayed in this awesome design is breathtaking!
