2020 1 oz Silver South Korea Phoenix BU

BOLD is very pleased to feature this striking new medallion from The Republic of Korea and KOMSCO, the 2020 1 oz Silver South Korea Phoenix BU. It appears that with each new release, we are greeted with even greater examples of KOMSCO’s stunning design and production excellence. This is definitely the case with this brand new, brilliant uncirculated Bong-Hwang (Phoenix) silver medallion!

Magnificent Phoenix!

The obverse is truly magnificent in its presentation! A phoenix, in all its glory is depicted, filling nearly the entire field. Its wings are spread wide, with its long tail feathers streaming below. One of its razor-sharp talons is exposed, and ready to strike. At the left rim, stylized tongues of fire are blazing in the wind, adding to the overall action of the scene. The inscription is stacked in the center, including “KOREAN PHOENIX 2020.” A stylized shield at the bottom rim includes the latent-image anti-counterfeit security technology, which displays one of two different words (“Bong” or “Hwang”) according to the viewing angle.

The reverse of this 2020 1 oz Silver South Korea Phoenix BU medallion features a beautifully stylized emblem, which brings together elements of both the South Korean Presidential Seal and the South Korean national Flag. The stunning design consists of two finely-detailed phoenixes facing each other, one with a pearl in its beak. The flag is represented by the four trigram bar symbols stacked vertically in sets of two, with the Yen-Yang symbol between the sets. This is positioned in the space between the two phoenixes. Inscriptions include, “REPUBLIC OF KOREA” at the top rim, and “KOMSCO . 1 OZ FINE SILVER 999” at the bottom.

The overall design of this new 2020 South Korean Phoenix 1 oz Silver medallion is incredibly stunning in its presentation and the fineness of its detail. You will not want to miss this offering!

    Just got my 5 Phoenix

Ordered Phoenix on their first presale. Got my 5 yesterday. They are ok. I am less than thrilled with the quality of the phoenix's head. It isn't very high relief. Tbh Komsco mint 2018 Series Slew it mixing high & reverse relief using mirroring etc. Just perfect. This is more of a bullion coin. Considering they come in plastic flips not sure when damage occurred. But I know all 5 of mine were at least MS67 & much better strikes then last 2 2oz BU Queens Beats. I think that with ammateur eye maybe 2MS68 maybe 1 was MS69 or MS70. Had some milk spots and some very light rubbing on the back/ front raised outer diameter lip. If you are looking to get a good coin with possible value to go up over the years for near BULLION prices, out of a MInt with Quality mint mark & are much better then a lot of .999 coins. Plus this is out of KOMSCO who I know is gonna only grow more and more. I hope they do a better job with TIGER this 2020. Oh, I am not a pro coin grader. But Compared to my 2019 tigers 2020 1oz phoenix are way worse quality, but cool new back. Compared to 2018 Tigers... There is no comparison. But At under $24 each not bad price.
