2021 Niue Ne Zha Kills The Dragon King’s Son 2oz Silver Antiqued

The theme of this incredibly powerful 2021 Niue Ne Zha Kills The Dragon King’s Son 2oz Silver Antiqued coin reaches far back into ancient Chinese folk religion to reintroduce Ne Zha. Nezha was a protection deity in Chinese folk religion. "Before Ne Zha was a deity, he was a boy with superhuman powers and armed with heavenly weapons. The first of his powerful weapons was the Universe Ring. The Wind-and-Fire Wheels would eventually become Ne Zha’s most outstanding weapon; his signature in the folk tales." Chinese folk religion highlights the feats of Ne Zha – the boy who became a deity.

Ne Zha Kills The Dragon King’s Son

As a legal tender offering of Niue, the obverse displays within a center inset the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II created by Ian Rank-Broadley. Inscriptions include, "NIUE ISLAND . 2021 . 5 DOLLARS . ELIZABETH II. Encircling the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II is depicted the awesome Wind-and-Fire Wheels weapon of Ne Zha.

The reverse features Ne Zha subduing and killing the Dragon King’s son. This feat was accomplished by wielding the powerful Universe Ring and the Red Armillary Sash to the son’s death. The Universe Ring has been selectively gilded to highlight the importance of the weapon. The antiqued finish magnificently brings out the detail of the scene.

Bi-Metal-Plus

The production of this magnificent 2021 Niue Ne Zha Kills The Dragon King’s Son 2oz Silver Antiqued coin has been made possible only through a new minting technique known as Bi-Metal-Plus. The process begins with an 11.5 oz copper core within two layers of 999 fine silver. This results in a large 80mm diameter, double that of a normal collectible bullion coin. The 11.5 oz copper core adds tremendous bulk and weight without the extra cost of an equivalent amount of silver weight. This also allows for the super ultra-high relief strike that brings alive the coin’s incredibly detailed design.
