This incredibly striking new series, Knights of the Past, launches with two finely-detailed and remarkably stunning coin designs. As introduced by Germania Mint,

"Knights of the Past is the first commemorative coin created through close cooperation between the Central Bank of Malta and Germania Mint. This issue will start a series of unique bullion coins, which in a modern way refer to the traditions of the Order of Malta. The collection will be the result of a collaboration, combining superior minting and precious metals quality, with the artistic vision, marketing and distribution of both institutions."

The obverse of this fine 2021 Knights of the Past - Malta 1oz Silver BU commemorative coin displays a highly detailed, active scene featuring the Knights of Malta in full battle array. They bear on their breastplates the distinguished Maltese cross.

Two of the knights are depicted astride horseback, while the featured knight in the foreground is shown on foot, directing the forward charge. His sword is lifted high in his left fist and the staff in his right. The beautiful historic Verdala Palace that overlooks the lush valley is seen in the background. Inscriptions include, "KNIGHTS OF THE PAST" encircle the top rim, and the denomination of 5 euro is displayed at the right rim.

The reverse of this remarkable commemorative coin features the Order's coat of arms emblazoned upon a circular shield being held by a Maltese Knight. Inscriptions include "MALTA . 2021 . 1 oz AG . 999.9.

This very fine inaugural premium commemorative coin offering introduces the new Knights of the Past series.
