Background

The United States issued the Liberty Head double eagle, commonly called the Coronet Double Eagle, as a twenty-dollar gold coin. From 1850 to 1907, it was regularly used for transactions after being initially struck in 1849 as a pattern coin. After a few internal disputes at the Philadelphia Mint, the double eagle was unveiled in 1850. This is now only one 1849 double eagle in storage at the Smithsonian. The coin quickly gained popularity and was widely accepted by merchants and banks. It was in use until 1907, when the Saint-Gaudens double eagle took its place.

Own a piece of American heritage with the $20 Liberty Gold Double Eagle. This Extra Fine condition coin is an investment in both precious metal and cultural legacy. Buy it now from BOLD Precious Metals and make history a part of your investment journey!
