The coin's obverse displays a portion of the Pioneer plaque design within a hexagonal shape. The Coat of Arms of the Republic of Chad is featured inside a small circle on the right side. The circle bears the inscription "REPUBLIC OF CHAD" in English and the date of issue "2022" below. Below the circle, the words "MESSAGE FROM EARTH" are inscribed. The precious metal content, "1 OZ FINE GOLD 9999", is shown diagonally above on the right. The anniversary dates "1972 - 2022" are displayed on the diagonal below left.

The reverse design inside a hexagon displays a section of the Pioneer plaque featuring the bare figures of a man and woman in front of the spacecraft. The man greets with his right hand raised while the inscription '50 YEARS' appears above the figures. The face value of the coin is CFA 10000 (Ten thousand Central African CFA Francs), and the Pioneer Plaque is inscribed diagonally above the right and below the left, respectively.
