$33.13BOLD is very excited to offer for your consideration the inaugural release by St. Helena of this stunning 6-coin series, The Queen's Virtues. The set will ultimately feature the six virtues of a Queen, as so magnificently personified in the beautiful statues of the Victoria Memorial at Buckingham Palace. The beauty of this first release of the 2021 1oz Silver St. Helena Queen's Virtues Victory BU edition sets the field for the entire series. This is one you should not miss!
As noted by the mint,
The conscious effort of acquiring and maintaining one's own code of moral values, a virtue is a custom when cultivated becomes more prevalent in life. Diligently observing the practise of being virtuous enables a personal nurturing, leading to a more successful life. They demonstrate the core beliefs considered to be central to contentment and happiness."
The obverse displays the beautiful, right-facing effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II within a center inset. The portrait was designed in 1985 by Raphael Maklouf. Inscriptions encircling the rim include, "£1 . ST. HELENA . QUEEN ELIZABETH II . 2021 . ONE OUNCE 999 SILVER." A very attractive geometric pattern adds a touch of distinction to the background field.
The virtue of "Victory through Harmony" was most appropriately selected as the theme of the inaugural release of this 2021 1oz Silver St. Helena Queen's Virtues Victory BU edition. The remarkably fine detail of the reverse design follows that of the Winged Victory statue standing at the top of the Victoria Monument. Also, as noted by the mint, "The first coin in this magnificent series represents Victory, perhaps one of the most prominent virtues a Monarch can behold. Defined as the success or triumph of overcoming an enemy, Victory is a key element in both Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth II's reign. Victory signals the end of conflict and a celebration of peace. The Queen as Sovereign is Head of the Armed Forces and is still the only person able to formally declare war and more crucially, an end to conflict."
The design is a faithful reproduction of the statue, featuring the female personification of the crowned, Winged Victory. Her right hand is raised, and in her left, she grasps the victor's palm. Draped in a beautiful flowing gown, with her wings proudly raised high, Victory through Harmony is magnificently personified. Inscriptions at the left rimband include, "VICTORY . THROUGH . HARMONY." At the lower right rim is displayed the historic East India Company hallmark. The same geometric pattern fills the reverse background.
