The reverse of the gold coin bears the official seal of Duke Friedrich II. This historically significant emblem is designed by Gertrude Simon. The inscriptions encircling the seal are “EINSETZUNG DER BABENBERGER 976-1976.” Since the coin is a nod to the noble dynasty known as the House of Babenberg, the inscription depicts their family name and seal.
