A lunar calendar is a calendar based on the monthly cycles of the Moon's phases. Its variations remain popular in many East Asian and Southeast Asian countries, such as Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore, Nepal, Bhutan and Thailand.
