This remarkably fine 2021 Tuvalu Double Dragon Yin Yang Koi Color Antique 2oz Silver coin design is based upon a legend recounted in ancient Chinese mythology. As introduced by the mint,
"According to ancient Chinese mythology, a school of golden koi swam up a fast-flowing river full of rocks and other obstacles to reach a legendary mountain waterfall known as The Dragon Gate. Despite its seemingly impassable height, one koi's repeated efforts to reach the crest eventually proved successful. In recognition of its determination and perseverance, the gods turned it into the most auspicious mythical creature in Chinese culture – a dragon.
The Silver Dragon coins have a highly symmetrical design that portrays two golden koi in the form of a Yin Yang (or taijitu) symbol encircled by two serpentine-shaped Chinese dragons. The transformation of the koi into a dragon is symbolized by the interconnection of their colored whiskers. Also included in the design is a backdrop of scrolling clouds, which are associated with deities, and lotus flowers, symbols of purity."

As a legal tender release by Tuvalu, the obverse displays the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The surface is lightly antiqued. Inscriptions encircling the rim include, "QUEEN ELIZABETH II . 2 oz 9999 Silver . 2021 . TUVALU . 2 DOLLARS."
The reverse features an incredibly detailed active scene depicting double dragons encircling the rim, and two koi in the coin's center, swimming together in the form of a Yin Yang symbol. The application of the antiquing is exquisite and colorization of the two koi, stunning!
