2019 1 oz Silver South Africa Natura Rise of the Dinosaurs: Euparkeria

The South African Mint is excited to announce the release of the first of a remarkable new series of 1 oz silver bullion coins: Natura Archosauria, or the Rise of Dinosours. Each coin is struck in .999 fine silver BU and comes in a mint capsule that is housed in a collectible blister pack which features images and information about the dinosaur on the coin. This series promises to be a must-have for fine bullion collectors.

Natura Coin Series

The South African Mint has minted the Gold Natura coin series since 1994. To mark the achievement of 25 years of issue, they expanded the series to include this 1 oz Silver bullion format.

Natura Euparkeria

The obverse image of this 2019 1 oz Silver South Africa Natura Euparkeria BU, which will be common to all releases in the series, shows the fossilized skull, neck and shoulder of an Erythrosuchus Africanus against a stone textured background.

Inscribed are the words "RISE OF THE DINOSAURS", "ARCHOSAURIA" and the year 2019 as Roman numerals "MMXIX".

The reverse features an image of the Euparkeria leaping into the air with jaws wide open catch an insect. Euparkeria was a small species of Archosauria from the Middle Triassic of South Africa. The prehistoric African landscape is visible in the background.

Inscribed are the words "NATURA", "EUPARKERIA" and the monetary denomination "25 RAND".
