The coin is based upon a design draft created in the Sixties by the late Stuart Devlin. Devlin was a highly distinguished Australian designer, artisan, goldsmith, and silversmith. His work still appears on much of the country's circulating coinage. Over his lifetime, Devlin also designed coins and medallions for countries throughout the world. The resurrection from Devlin's old draft archives of this striking 2021 Australia Beneath Southern Skies 1 oz Silver BU release provides collectors and investors worldwide the opportunity to honor his legacy and freshly appreciate his phenomenal artistic creativity.

Beneath the Southern Cross

As a legal tender release of Australia, the obverse displays the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth designed by Jody Clark. The background includes an image of a world globe displaying latitudinal and longitudinal lines. Inscriptions encircling the rim include, "ELIZABETH II . AUSTRALIA . 2021."

As with the obverse, the reverse also displays the globe filling the background. A large textured map of Australia overlays the map. New on this second edition, a small privy image of an iconic platypus is displayed at Sydney's position on the map. In the sky above the map the Southern Cross constellation is marked by a series of brilliant stars.
