The Queen Victoria Sovereign gold coin comes with the legendary history of the British Empire. Dating back to a time when the sun never set on the Empire, these sovereign gold coins were minted during the 64 year (and 7 months) reign of the Queen. The Old head design was introduced in 1893 and continued to be minted through 1893. Sometimes referred to as the Veiled head, or Widowed head, this design is possibly the most sought of the four distinct designs that captured Queen Victoria's public life. There is both a sense of distinctive nobility displayed in the portrait's design and a true respect of aging of the respected Queen.
These gold sovereign coins are far more than historically significant relics of a past era, they are also fine examples of of British craftmanship. They are sought by collectors and investors for their fine antiquity and value.
