The coin is rectangular (vertical orientation), in the shape of a card. As a legal tender offering of Niue, the obverse displays the Ian Rank-Broadly effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II within an inset. Inscriptions include "ELIZABETH II . NIUE . TWO DOLLARS . 2021." An attractive pattern encircles the rim, as it normally would on a deck of cards.

The reverse of this 2021 Niue Tarot Cards - The Empress 1oz Silver Colored Proof coin depicts the Empress more as a guide encouraging to take care of ourselves rather than focus too much on helping others. She is standing, eyes closed and holding a staff in her right hand and a crescent moon in her left hand. In the background is flames and skulls among a gree, earthy backdrop. Inscriptions include the roman numeral III within a small circular inset at the top of the card.
