Depicting "The Montreal Incident," this rectangular beauty shows what those who were at the Hôtel Bonaventure Montréal who claimed that a UFO was spotted from the rooftop pool on November 7, 1990, saw floating in the night sky. As Ripley says, believe it... or not!
The UFO's bright light beams colourfully lit up the night sky, and they certainly do on your coin's reverse. Your coin comes with a black light flashlight that activates the embedded black light paint technology, which emphasizes the outline of the UFO and adds an intense, colourful glow to the light beams that are also reflected on the pool surface. The mint has engineered a Freshnel optical effect that alters the way light reflects off the coin. Try different viewing angles!
The obverse The obverse features a field pattern and the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt. Engraved on the top is "2021." Engraved at the bottom is "20 DOLLARS." On the left side is "ELIZABETH II," while the right side features "D.G.REGINA."
The reverse design by Canadian graphic design artist Patrick Belanger features the artist's rendition of an aerial UFO phenomenon that is said to have occurred on November 7, 1990 in Montréal, Quebec. The colourful image shows the event from the perspective of those who spotted the object from the rooftop pool at the Hôtel Bonaventure Montréal. The object's bright light beams are amplified by black light paint technology and an engineered Fresnel effect, which varies the intensity of reflected light depending on the viewing angle. "CANADA" is engraved at the bottom.
Mintage is strictly limited to only 5,000 pieces. Due to expected high demand for this brand new 6-coin proof series, you really must act quickly to reserve your desired quantity for each individual coin as they come up for release.
