Jindo dogs are one of South Korea's National Treasures, prized for their loyalty and instinct. Because of its protected status, only dogs born on Jindo Island can be officially registered as a Jindo by the South Korean government.

The obverse features an approaching Jindo dog to meet a seated girl. Inscriptions are "70" for the 70th anniversary of Komsco Mint and "1oz FINE SILVER 999.". The reverse depicts parent Jindo and its puppy with the inscriptions of "KOREAN JINDO DOG" and "2021."
