Magnificent Phoenix!

The obverse is truly magnificent in its presentation! A phoenix, in all its glory is depicted, filling nearly the entire field. Its wings are spread wide, with its long tail feathers streaming below. One of its razor-sharp talons is exposed, and ready to strike. At the left rim, stylized tongues of fire are blazing in the wind, adding to the overall action of the scene. The inscription is stacked in the center, including "KOREAN PHOENIX 2021." A stylized shield at the bottom rim includes the latent-image anti-counterfeit security technology, which displays one of two different words ("Bong" or "Hwang") according to the viewing angle.

The reverse of this 2021 1 oz Silver South Korea Phoenix BU medallion features a beautifully stylized emblem, which brings together elements of both the South Korean Presidential Seal and the South Korean national Flag. The stunning design consists of two finely-detailed phoenixes facing each other, one with a pearl in its beak. The flag is represented by the four trigram bar symbols stacked vertically in sets of two, with the Yen-Yang symbol between the sets. This is positioned in the space between the two phoenixes. Inscriptions include, "REPUBLIC OF KOREA" at the top rim, and "KOMSCO . 1 OZ FINE Silver Coin 999" at the bottom.
