Scottsdale Mint, in partnership with the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB), is returning for the second annual release schedule of the extremely popular EC8 8-coin series, featuring the eight Eastern Caribbean Island nation members. Included are Antigua & Barbuda, Saint Kitts & Nevis, Commonwealth of Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, Anguilla, Saint Vincent & the Grenadines, and Saint Lucia. The third new edition to release is this 2019 1 oz Gold Dominica Nature Isle.

Each of the inaugural 2018 8-coin editions quickly became best-sellers and maintained strong series popularity throughout the full release cycle. Now, with this third 2019 release, the series is well underway! We are expecting an even greater response to each edition than we experienced in 2018.

• Obverse: Common to the series, displayed is a right-facing portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II framed by two evergreen laurels. Also inscribed are the weight, purity, and face value of 10 Dollars (XCD).
• Reverse: Features the national bird of Dominica, the Sisserou Parrot. It is shown perched on a limb. The rim is encircled with lush vegetation and flowers. A propeller plane flies high above a silhouetted island image.

Nature Isle of the Caribbean

The astounding natural beauty of the island nation of Dominica is poignantly captured by its common name, the "Nature Isle of the Caribbean." An actively-evolving volcanic island of the Eastern Caribbean, Dominica is part of the Lesser Antilles chain. Dominica is lush with pristine rainforests and mountainous volcano peaks, presenting some of the most interesting hiking experiences in the region. Home of Boiling Lake, one of the largest geothermal-active lakes in the world, demonstrates the powerful ongoing effects of deep volcanic activity.

There could hardly be a more wonderful place to take in the wonder of creation and unwind from the constraints of our pressurized schedules. The design of this 2019 1 oz Gold Dominica Nature Isle displays something of the beautiful, lush island vegetation.

Lush Pristine Island Beauty

The very attractive obverse will be common to all eight EC8 2019 releases. The inset features the Raphael Maklouf effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Distinctive laurels of evergreen shrubs frame the portrait on either side, nearly filling the center inset. A narrow band encircles the rim, which includes the inscriptions, "EASTERN CARIBBEAN CENTRAL BANK" at the top, and "1 oz .999 GOLD . QUEEN ELIZABETH II . 10 DOLLARS" at the bottom rim.

The reverse is absolutely lush with various island flowers and vegetation. Interestingly, these form a rim band encircling the featured scene. A propeller plane is displayed flying high over the silhouetted island below. A series of intersecting lines form a geometric pattern in the background.

A beautiful, finely-detailed Sisserou Parrot is perched on a limb, entirely filling the lower right quadrant. Also known as the Imperial or Dominican Amazon, this parrot is exclusive to Dominica and is the island's national bird. Inscriptions include "Dominica" at the top, superimposing the background images. Also, the release year, "2019" is displayed on the island image.
