The Tokelau Chronos Series is now entering its 6th annual release cycle. Having originally launched in 2015 as a silver round without legal tender status, Tokelau released the 2019 offering with a $5 NZD denomination. The series has maintained the same theme throughout, while the design has undergone significant changes with each release. And this 2019 Tokelau Chronos 1 oz Silver BU edition is certainly one of the most striking and ornately detailed of the series to date.

The obverse depicts a clock dial with ornamental clock hands showing the time to be 5 minutes to 12:00. The $5 face value is located at 5 o'clock. Inscriptions are "NOW AND FOREVER" at the 9 o'clock mark and AG (Latin abbreviation for Argentum) at 12:00.

The reverse features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Queen Elizabeth II on the middle left. An intersecting wave pattern goes from left to right, with each wave comprised of seven separate lines. At the intersection is a stylized circle with the inscriptions "NEW ZEALAND DOLLARS" and "5." On the lower portion of the background, "ONE OUNCE FINE SILVER 999" is inscribed.
