A solid layer precedes a star-shaped circle. Each progressive level is smaller than the one before it. The background features stylized pinwheel shapes.

The reverse side of the coin features a myriad of shapes that symbolize the golden ratio. Four rectangles appear to be rotating fan blades on a common axis, and each contains a variety of shapes and designs..
