The obverse of the 1 oz CNT Minting Mercury Dime Design Silver Round features the design of the original Mercury Dime, designed by Adolph Weinman. This design also depicts the left profile effigy of Lady Liberty wearing the classic Phrygian cap

with wings. The head-and-neck portrait of the Lady is surrounded by the inscriptions “LIBERTY” and the motto of the US, “IN GOD WE TRUST.”

The reverse side of the silver round depicts the interconnection between the Roman culture and the coin design with the Roman Fasces. Fasces is a Latin word that means “bundle.” In ancient Rome, the fasces was a sign of authority and strength that included a bundle of wooden rods bound together with leather straps and a single-head axe. The olive branch is also depicted coiled around the Roman fasces. This design is encircled by the inscriptions for weight and purity as, “ONE TROY OUNCE .999 SILVER,” along with the motto of the US, “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” which means ‘Out of many, One.’
