BOLD is pleased to introduce the 2024 1 oz British Silver Britannia and Liberty Coin (BU), a result of the collaboration between the Royal Mint and the United States Mint. The coin is part of a bullion range that celebrates the partnership of Britannia and Liberty in a single unified design. The Chief Engravers of the two mints, Gordon Summers and Joseph Menna have jointly created a binary design that features two national symbols representing a longstanding special relationship. This is the first time the mints have collaborated to design a coin.
Earlier, the United States Mint and the Royal Mint have collaborated on sets such as the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower set and the Legacies of Freedom Series, which features an American Silver Eagle and British Silver Britannia. Yet, they never collaborated on a single design released by both mints. A combined Britannia-Liberty design, created by the Chief Engravers of both mints, is featured in the 2024 Britannia and Liberty Series.
