1/2 oz Mexican Libertad Gold Coin (BU, Random Year)

BOLD is delighted to present the 1/2 oz Mexican Libertad Gold Coin from the Mexican Mint at the lowest prices and fully insured delivery!

This coin is available in Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) condition and bears various dates based on availability and our choice. Coins minted from 1981 to 1988 contain .900 fine gold, while those minted since 1991 contain .999 fine gold. Thus, with the varying years, the purity may also vary.

Key Features:

  • 1/2 oz Mexican Libertad Gold Coin (BU, Random Year)
  • Purity: Contains 1/2 (0.5) troy ounces of varying purity as per the year.
  • Obverse: It bears the relief design of the national shield portraying a Mexican Golden Eagle with the inscription, “ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS.”
  • Reverse: It showcases the Angel of Independence with the mountain peaks, Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl in the background.
  • Dimension: Diameter of 29 mm and 1.75 mm of thickness.
  • Packaging: Each coin arrives in protective encapsulation from PCGS.

The 1/2 oz Mexican Libertad Gold Coin's obverse bears Mexico's national shield, which features a Mexican Golden eagle clenching to a serpent in its talons. The inscriptions above the eagle are “ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS,” which means ‘United States Mexico’.

The reverse side of this gold coin bears two of the most significant elements for the people of Mexico: the Winged Victory statue and the mountains in the background, along with the essential inscriptions -weight, country, and year. The Winged Victory statue, or the Angel of Independence, was created to honor the victory of Mexico over Spanish rule. The mountains in the background, Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl, are believed to be two-star crosses lovers, united by God as he turned them into mountains!

The design remains the same for every issue; however, the Winged Victory statue can have a frontal or slightly left profile, depending on the issue.
