This new 2021 1oz Silver Bhutan Year of the Ox Proof edition increases the blessings of the new 12-year cycle of celebration as the 6th release in the "Bhutan Lunar and Attraction Series." The delightful new coin release continues to feature the same wonderful design style as the 5 previous issues, first launched for 2016.

Bhutan Year of the Ox

The obverse highlights the Year of the Ox with this wonderfully unique design composed of floral, leaves, and clouds in the form of a very pleasant and happy ox. An attractive, artistic frame surrounds the central image. Inscriptions encircling the top rim include, "2021 YEAR OF THE OX." A decorative banner at the bottom rim includes the face value in Ngultrum and the silver fineness, "NU.500 . 1 OZ 999 FINE SILVER."

The reverse depicts the incredibly beautiful Paro Valley in the center inset, colorized to display something of its wonderful lushness. Inscriptions encircling the rim include, "KINGDOM OF BHUTAN . 2021." Encircling the center inset is an attractive series of cloud emblems. Also, as noted by the mint,

"Paro Valley is one of the most attractive places in Bhutan. As of today, there are over 155 temples and monasteries in the area, some dating as far back as the 14th century. This lush location is one of the widest valleys in the kingdom which produces tremendous amounts of grains on its fertile terraced fields that also has a beautiful, crystalline river meandering down its entire stretch."
