The United States Mint is proud to present the final edition of the America The Beautiful Quarters Program with this remarkably fine 2021 5oz Silver ATB Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site Alabama.
Having begun this 56-coin series with the 2010 release of Hot Springs, Arkansas NP (est 1832), we have been treated to some of the most beautiful and intriguing U.S. National Parks and other distinctive historical and national sites. With each U.S. State, District of Columbia and Territory represented with one site entry to be honored in the series. This has certainly been a wonderful and rewarding road trip, visiting these amazing national sites!

The obverse is common to the entire series, depicting George Washington in a restored version of the portrait created by John Flanagan for the 1932 Washington quarter. Incuse engraved on the rim is the 5oz weight and 999 fine purity.
The reverse design of this new 2021 5oz Silver ATB Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site Alabama coin truly exciting to view. Not only because of the fine design, but even more, the true story it represents! As described by the mint, "The design depicts a Tuskegee Airman pilot suiting up to join the fight during World War II with the Moton Field control tower in the background. The pilot looks upward with pride and confidence as two P-51 Mustangs pass overhead." The inscriptions encircling the rim include, "TUSKEGEE AIRMEN . THEY FOUGHT TWO WARS . ALABAMA . 2021 . E PLURIBUS UNUM."
