$34.86The Royal Mint's Shengxiào Collection was unveiled in 2014 to an exceptionally pleased global bullion market. Featuring some of the most beautifully stylized designs on the market. The six releases going through the 2019 Year of the Pig concluded that 12-year cycle. This 2020 1 oz Silver Royal Mint Year of the Rat begins the next 12-year cycle with what we might describe as a stylistic realism.
This inaugural release of this new 12-year Chinese lunar calendar series, commencing with this 2020 1 oz Silver Lunar Year of the Rat, The Royal Mint continues to astound us with each new release. And that includes this 2020 1 oz Silver Royal Mint Lunar Rat. It will most certainly make a great addition to your Lunar coin collection!
The obverse design for the series features Jody Clark's beautiful portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Encircling the image at the rim are the inscriptions, "ELIZABETH II D.G. REG-FID-DEF . 2 POUNDS."
The seventh release in the Shengxiào Collection celebrates the 2020 Year of the Rat. This wonderfully stylized reverse design displays both a realistic depiction of a single rat that appears to have been startled in the act of foraging, while also providing a stylistic flair typical of the Shengxiào Collection. The rat has turned its head, quickly looking back over its shoulder, with snout lifted high in an attempt to gauge what danger might be approaching. This is realy a finely captured scene, highlighting some of the positive traits exhibited to this animal, including high intelligence, alertness, adaptability, and ambition.
This first release of the new 12-year Lunar Calendar, Royal Mint Shengxiào Collection is truly a wonderful new beginning! You will not want to miss out on this offering!
