Exceptional Stylized Design

As a legal tender offering of Samoa, the obverse beautifully displays the Samoan crest filling nearly the entire field. The rim is tightly-encircled by a distinctive beaded band. The inscriptions include "SAMOA . 2020" at the top rim. To the left is, "1 TROY OUNCE," and to the right is "999 FINE SILVER." the denomination of 2 TALA rests at the bottom rim.

With some of the finest detail imaginable, the reverse of this 2020 1oz Samoa Seahorse Silver Antique edition displays a single seahorse riding the crest of a wave in the open tropical waters of the Samoan Islands. The exceptional beauty displayed in the overall scene is not only from the detail, but also the striking way in which each element comes together. Certainly, the intriguing natural markings of the seahorse is the feature, while the rising waves provides a sense of the live action.

The background displays highly-stylized patterns depicting the spray and bubbles from ocean waves, which wonderfully frame the active scene. No inscriptions appear on the reverse, allowing for this wonderful scene to fill completely the coin's field.
