Scottsdale Mint, in partnership with the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB), is returning for the annual release schedule of the extremely popular EC8 8-coin series. The series features stunning bullion offerings from the eight Eastern Caribbean Island nation members. Included are Antigua & Barbuda, Anguilla, Commonwealth of Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

Each of the previous 8-coin editions quickly became best-sellers and maintained strong series popularity throughout the full release cycle. Now, with this 2021 release, BOLD is continuing to experience high demand, both during presale offerings and the live releases.

The Frigatebird is a seasbird common in tropical and subtropical areas. They are noted for their bright red chests and that they steal from other seabirds. Frigatebirds are able to use one half of their brain at a time to regulate flight while sleeping! These birds can be found on islands like Antigua and Barbuda.

• Individual coins will come in mint-issued capsules. Multiples of 5 will come in mint-issued capsules, sealed together on a cardboard skin board bearing the Scottsdale logo.
• Legal tender, backed by the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank.

Active High Seas Design

The obverse of the coin will be common to the eight EC8 2021 releases. The center inset features the Raphael Maklouf effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Distinctive laurels of evergreen shrubs frame the portrait on either side. A narrow band encircles the rim, which includes the inscriptions, "EASTERN CARIBBEAN CENTRAL BANK" at the top, and "1 oz .999 SILVER . QUEEN ELIZABETH II . 2 DOLLARS" at the bottom rim.

The reverse depicts a red-breasted frigatebird perched upon a cliff overlooking the ocean. The rim features that make the coins harder to duplicate and provide a measure of security. Inscriptions are: "ANTIGUA & BARBUDA" at the top rim, in a very fitting bold script. Also included is the year of release, 2021.
