More practically, they provided advanced warning to pedestrians, especially in winter when horse-drawn sleighs could be difficult to hear or bring to a halt. In popular culture, the sound of jingle bells (also known as sleigh bells) herald the approach of Santa Claus in a reindeer-drawn sleigh on Christmas Eve.."

The obverse features Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's distinctive, right-facing effigy designed by Jody Clark and a semi-circle of two ribbons tied together surrounded by the coin's weight, purity, denomination, and year. The rim is inscribed with "ELIZABETH II. AUSTRALIA. 2 DOLLARS. 2022. 2oz 9999 Ag."

The reverse has an antiqued surface treatment and shows a Christmas wreath with decorative gold baubles, candy canes, and Christmas berries. The Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark also appears in the design. A 24-carat gold-plated jingle bell is encased in the coin's center.
