In keeping with this year's theme of 'the spirit of innovation', The Royal Mint is proud to unveil the latest edition of this flagship coin, which features a fresh interpretation of Britannia by the illustrator P. J. Lynch. This new depiction once again seeks to embrace, embody and empower the spirit of Britannia and the proud British nation for which she stands."

As a legal tender offering of Great Britain, the obverse displays the right-facing profile of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, introduced in 2016, and designed by Royal Mint engraver Jody Clark. Inscriptions include "ELIZABETH II D. G. REG. F. D." and the 2 pounds face value.

The reverse of this 2021 1oz Silver Britannia Premium BU Edition introduces a remarkably powerful and fresh presentation of Britannia the strong, watchful female personification of the United Kingdom. Britannia is displayed in a head and shoulders, right-facing profile, revealing the remarkable strength and beauty of her poise and resolve. Armor is noticed upon her shoulder and the finely decorated regal plumed helmet, emblazoned with the engraved British Lion image. The helmet's face covering has been raised to reveal Britannia's face. Low on the background horizon are seen the lapping waves off the coast of Great Britain. Inscriptions at the rim include, "BRITANNIA . 2021 . 1 oz 999 FINE SILVER."
