Pioneer No. 10: On March 3, 1972, the first artificial object to leave our solar system set off. In the unlikely event that intelligent life forms from another planetary system discover the spacecraft, it is equipped with a gold-anodized aluminum plaque. The Pioneer plaque has representations of a male and female human, along with symbols meant to reveal information about the spacecraft's beginnings.

The words REPUBLIC OF CHAD are written in English around that circle above, and the year of issue 2022 is written around that circle below. "MESSAGE FROM EARTH" is written in three lines beneath the circle.

The precious metal content is "1/10 OZ FINE GOLD 9999" (one-tenth of a troy ounce of .9999 fine gold), as indicated by the diagonal above right. The anniversary dates, from "1972 to 2022", are shown diagonally below left.

The reverse design shows a portion of the Pioneer plaque inside a hexagon, with a naked man and woman in front of the spacecraft, the man raising his right hand in greeting. The words "50 YEARS" are written above the numbers. Pioneer Plaque is diagonally above the right. The face value, CFA 5000 (five thousand Central African CFA Francs), is located diagonally below the left.
