Surrounding the heraldic eagle are the inscriptions depicting the motto of the US, “IN GOD WE TRUST,” the country of issue, and the face value as “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “ONE DOLLAR.” Below the eagle is the mint mark, “O,” for the New Orleans facility of the US Mint.
