BOLD delightfully presents the 1921 Morgan Silver Dollar with the MS65 grade, graded by one of the most significant and trusted coin grading services, the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS). The MS65 grade means the coin has minor marks with an above-average strike.
The obverse of the 1921 Morgan Silver Dollar depicts George T. Morgan’s effigy of Lady Liberty and was modeled by Anna Willess Williams. The Lady is wearing the classic Phrygian cap with a headband that reads, “LIBERTY.” Above the effigy are the inscriptions of the US motto, “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” the year of issue “1921” and 13 stars.
The reverse side of the silver coin features the majestic heraldic eagle clenching onto a bundle of arrows and an olive branch in its talons with its outstretched wings touching the edge. The inscriptions surrounding the eagle are “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. ONE DOLLAR” and the US motto “IN GOD WE TRUST.”
The Morgan Silver Dollar was introduced in 1878 and quickly became world-famous due to its design and purity. This silver dollar featured one of the best effigies of Lady Liberty in history, designed by George T. Morgan, hence the moniker.
The 1921 issue of this coin was the last year of issue before being succeeded by the Peace Dollar. It’s historical importance and condition rarity add to it’s worth.
The MS65 grade from the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) is a stunning grade, which means the coin has an above-average strike with minor marks, which is relatively impeccable for such a valuable coin.
