Line a glass dish with tinfoil, generously coat your silver earrings with baking soda, pour boiling water over them, and scrub gently with a soft brush.

Gold Earrings

But for simple pieces, this works best. If the stones in your gold earrings are held in place with adhesive, stay away from this method. The glue might melt from the alcohol.
