Included are Antigua & Barbuda, Anguilla, Commonwealth of Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, Saint Kitts & Nevis, Saint Lucia, and Saint Vincent & The Grenadines. The seventh 2020 edition to release is this intriguing 2020 1 oz Silver Saint Lucia Whiptail Lizard Colored Proof.

A Caribbean Island Paradise

The stunningly beautiful Eastern Caribbean island of Saint Lucia became an independent state in 1979, and entered as a member of the Commonwealth of Nations. Now a member of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank group, this beautiful bullion coin release is made possible through partnership of ECCB with Scottsdale Mint.

As noted by the mint,

"The 2020 EC8 St. Lucia coin's reverse depicts the many beautiful faces of this island that is truly blessed by nature. The foreground prominently features the blue-colorized Whiptail Lizard (affectionately called 'Zando' by locals), an endangered and iconic reptile species that is endemic to St. Lucia and the only whiptail species found in the entire Caribbean.

The whiptail is set against a backdrop of the famous Gros and Petit Pitons rising up from the sea. The volcanic peaks rise dramatically from the Caribbean Sea to approximately 750m and are classified as a World Heritage Site. Finally the coin includes the national flower, the St. Lucia Rose, a nod to the abundant flora the island is so proud of."

The obverse is common to all eight EC8 2020 releases. The inset displays the Raphael Maklouf effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Distinctive laurels of evergreen shrubs frame the portrait on either side, nearly filling the center inset. A narrow band encircles the rim, which includes the inscriptions, "EASTERN CARIBBEAN CENTRAL BANK" at the top, and "1 oz .999 SILVER . QUEEN ELIZABETH II . TWO DOLLARS" at the bottom rim.

This highly-popular series has a very limited mintage of only 500 per release. Its fresh design is also a stunning addition to the overall series.
