As a legal tender offering of Niue, the obverse displays within an upper center inset the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II created by Ian Rank-Broadley. Inscriptions include, "NIUE ISLAND . 2022 . 5 DOLLARS . ELIZABETH II. Ag 9999." Encircling the scene is a beautiful pattern featuring a stylized star within a circle. Displayed are a sword, a castle, and a fluttering curtain-like fabric.

The coin's reverse features a powerful image of Jeanne D’Arc, a defender of France in the siege of Orléans, and her insistence on the coronation of Charles VII of France during the Hundred Years' War. Stating that she was acting under divine guidance, she became a military leader who transcended gender roles and gained recognition as a savior of France.
