Chiwoo Cheonwang is known throughout Korean lore and mythology as a god of war. A demon-like mask covers his face, he casts magical spells, carries a shield with a mask inscribed on the front, and is believed to control the weather!

The Obverse & Reverse Design 

A mythical figure from Korean lore, do ggae bi (!) protects against evil spirits. For the 2021 release, the design was completely updated, adding curved horns as well as more detailed nuances. The new product image is based upon a patterned tile housed in the National Museum of the Republic of Korea. The top rim is inscribed with "REPUBLIC OF KOREA," "2021 FINE SILVER 999" at the left rim, and “1 CLAY” on the right.

The reverse depicts a sealed gate that has emerged from the Chiwoo Empire's underground. A warrior, Chiwoo Cheonwang, stands at the gate with his sword and shield. A very faint, latent image engraving appears below the image, showing "999" in a small circle. The rim is inscribed with "KOMSCO" and CHIWOO CHEONWANG.”
